Estel "Gene" Eugene Jones

Estel Eugene (Gene) Jones, 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, previously Albany, passed away peacefully November 6, 2021 at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Ewell and Girtie Jones.  He is survived by his wife, Molly Reba Jones, Granddaughter Brittney Lavens Saitta (Matthew) and Great-Granddaughter, Millie, along with brothers Ray Jones (Phyllis), Clayton Jones (Patricia), Donald Jones (Pamela) and sisters Phyllis (Peter) Passerelli and Jo Ann (Stephen) Boyd.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jones Lavens and son-in-law, Michael Lavens, brothers Clarence Jones (Doris) and Ronald Jones (Harriet).

Gene was a veteran of the United States Army and a civil engineer for the Army Corps. of Engineers, proudly working on such projects as Wolf Creek Dam.  He loved classic cars, his garden and his family and was a friend to all he met.

Memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Central Time on Friday, November 12th at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home in Albany, final resting place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Clinton County; visitation beforehand at 10:30 am Central Time.
